We Believe in Transparency
Answers to the questions we hear most from prospective clients about our approach, fees, and philosophy.
The families we work with are often business owners, executives with equity compensation, or households within a few years of retirement. What they share is enough complexity that investment advice alone is no longer sufficient.
Planning is the center of the relationship rather than a service attached to a portfolio. Tax strategy, retirement income, estate coordination, and investments are handled as one connected plan, and planning is priced as a flat membership fee rather than depending on the size of your portfolio.
The first year is the build year. We gather and organize your full financial picture, model retirement income and tax scenarios, coordinate your estate documents, and implement the priorities in sequence. From there the relationship moves to ongoing planning, monitoring, and annual updates as your life changes.
We are compensated directly by our clients, not through commissions or product sales. Planning fees are based on the membership tier that fits your needs and are billed monthly, with an additional first-year amount that covers the initial planning and implementation work. Investment management is optional and billed separately as an annual percentage of assets under management. Third-party costs such as fund expense ratios, custodian fees, and transaction charges are separate and are not paid to Guided Wealth. Our fee schedule is described in our Form ADV Part 2A and Form CRS, and we review the exact numbers with you before you commit to anything.
Investment management is optional and billed separately from planning fees. Fees are based on the market value of assets under management at the end of the prior month, calculated using the blended tier schedule below from our Form ADV Part 2A. Fees may be negotiable and are generally deducted directly from your account.
| Assets under management | Annual rate |
|---|---|
| Up to $1,000,000 | 1.15% |
| $1,000,001 - $2,000,000 | 1.00% |
| $2,000,001 - $5,000,000 | 0.85% |
| $5,000,001 - $10,000,000 | 0.80% |
| $10,000,001 - $25,000,000 | 0.70% |
| $25,000,001 - $50,000,000 | 0.40% |
| $50,000,001 and over | 0.30% |
Independent manager fees and platform fees are separate and disclosed in advance.
Yes, for clients who want it. Portfolio management is an optional service alongside planning, and in some situations we may use independent managers for specific strategies. Client assets are held at an independent qualified custodian, not by Guided Wealth.
No. Planning is available without moving any assets. Some clients engage us for planning alone and keep their accounts where they are; others consolidate over time. If you do move assets, they are held at an independent qualified custodian in accounts titled in your name.
Yes. Many clients come to us with professionals they trust, and we work alongside them. Where legal or tax advice is required, that work stays with your attorney or CPA.
We coordinate directly with your CPA, estate attorney, and insurance professionals so tax strategy, estate documents, and the financial plan stay aligned rather than being handled in isolation. When you need a specialist you don't have, we can introduce you to one.
That conversation is worth having regardless of the outcome. We'll review what you have, tell you plainly where it appears well handled, and identify what may be missing. If your current relationship is serving you well, we'll say so.
Yes. A sale changes the tax picture, the income picture, and the estate picture at the same time. We help coordinate proceeds, charitable and tax planning strategies, the transition from business income to portfolio income, and updates to your estate documents alongside your attorney and CPA.
Membership tiers exist for that reason. As complexity increases through multi-generational planning, concentrated positions, philanthropy, or business interests, the scope of coordination expands and the tier can change with it. The scope and fee are reviewed with you before any change.
Yes. We work with families across the United States, subject to applicable state registration requirements. Our approach was built to work virtually without sacrificing the depth or personal attention our clients are used to.
It's 45 minutes, and it's genuinely just a conversation. We'll ask about your life, your goals, and what's on your mind. You'll ask us about how we work. No pitch, no pressure. At the end, we'll both have a clearer sense of whether this relationship makes sense.
